Erasmus+ mobility „We frame the change” begins – August 18, 2025

Asociația Culturală Atelierul European de Artă proudly announces the beginning of the international mobility „We frame the change”, an innovative youth exchange that will take place between August 18-26, 2025.

A European project for active citizenship through art

„We frame the change” is the result of collaboration between five European organizations united by a common vision: European Art Workshop Cultural Association (Romania), Promesas (Spain), Rokiskio jaunimo centras (Lithuania), Stichting Jong Noord (Netherlands), and doMani (Italy).

From frustration to action

The project starts from a reality we all experience: moments of frustration caused by problems in our communities – urban pollution, lack of respect for authorities, inadequate treatment of stray animals. Instead of remaining passive in the face of these challenges, the partner organizations have found a creative and efficient solution.

The main goal is to cultivate among young people a spirit of empathy and a sense of community-oriented action, using art as a bridge between the desire for change and the target audience.

Visual stories for change

In the following 7 intensive days, participants will:

  • Understand the concept of active citizenship and the barriers that prevent community involvement
  • Master the photovoice method for documenting community problems through photography
  • Develop storytelling techniques for effective communication and motivating actions
  • Create visual stories that inspire an active mindset for improving their community

The mobility includes practical workshops, teamwork sessions, outdoor activities for applying the learned methods, as well as moments of cultural exchange. Everything will culminate with a public exhibition where participants will present the results of their work. The exhibition will be realized with the help of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection of Sector 6 Bucharest (Direcția Generală de Asistență Socială și Protecția Copilului), within the Iulia Hașdeu Seniors Club, and admission will be free – Sunday, August 24, 2025, 12:30 p.m.

This mobility is part of a broader 10-month project that will continue to promote active citizenship through visual stories in all partner countries.

„We frame the change” demonstrates that art is not just expression, but also a powerful instrument of social transformation. Through this initiative, European youth become agents of change in their own communities.
