Leadership in Action: Open Session at the National Youth Foundation
On November 15, between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, we invite you to witness the transformation of leadership skills from theory into practice during a special event organized at the National Youth Foundation.
From Learning to Application
During the „From Training to Leadership” mobility program, international participants in our Erasmus+ project will have the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned in an authentic and dynamic setting. The 26 youth workers from Romania, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Turkey, and Spain will facilitate a working session alongside volunteers from our community, including teenagers and seniors, in a unique interactive experience.
What will happen on November 15?
The event will take place at the National Youth Foundation (General Christian Tell Street 22, Bucharest – Piața Romană area) and will transform the space into an applied leadership laboratory. The mobility participants will work directly with volunteers from DGASPC Sector 6 and Școala de Valori, facilitating practical activities based on the non-formal education methods they have explored in recent days.
What do we mean when we say „leadership”?
The session will address essential dimensions of youth work:
Group Dynamics and Cohesion – How can relationships in a group be improved, and how do we build trust among team members? Through interactive exercises, participants will discover concrete team-building techniques.
Emotional Intelligence in Practice – Recognizing and managing one’s own emotions, as well as understanding the emotions of others, are fundamental skills for any leader. We will explore how we can develop this essential capacity.
Constructive Conflict Management – Conflicts are inevitable in any group, but the way we approach them makes all the difference. Participants will experience mediation techniques and positive resolution of tensions.
Inspiring Leadership – How can a leader positively influence group dynamics and contribute to the growth of each team member? We will see in action the principles of authentic leadership oriented towards the development of others.
Why does this event matter?
This moment represents more than just a simple demonstration. It is proof that non-formal education methods work, that leadership can be learned, and that youth workers can become excellent facilitators of change in their communities. The fact that our international participants choose to work with volunteers from different generations – from teenagers to seniors – demonstrates the power of these methods at all stages of life.
For the local community, this event offers a window into European approaches to youth work and an opportunity to directly experience the impact of the Erasmus+ program. For the mobility participants, this is the moment of truth – transforming knowledge into practical skills, in front of a real audience.
